NEIGHBOURHOOD

  • Maidan Nezalezhnosti (Independence Square) is the very impressive, much-loved heart of Kiev, but it has become more than this and is now the symbol of unity of the Ukrainian nation. A must-see place for every guest of the city, it is only one minute walk away from Senator Maidan.

  • Khreshchatyk is the main street of Kiev and with its beautiful buildings in the neo-classical style of post-war Stalinist architecture is a must visit for any newcomer. The street looks especially beautiful in spring when chestnut trees are in blossom. It’s only a 3-minute walk from Senator Maidan.

  • Taras Shevchenko`s Literary and Memorial House – Museum of the National Hero – presents the incredible story of the life and creative heritage of Ukraine’s greatest national poet and artist, Taras Shevchenko. It is next to Senator Maidan.

  • St. Sophia’s Cathedral is one of the oldest cathedrals in Kiev. Go on up into the bell tower and see the panoramic view of wonderful Kiev – it is unforgettable! It is a 5 minute walk from Senator Maidan.

  • Andriyivskyy Uzviz presents “the spirit of old Kiev”. It’s often called Kiev Montmartre for its numerous art galleries, open-air exhibitions of artists and musicians, creative restaurants and cafes. It’s a pleasant 10 minute walk from Senator Maidan.

  • Mariyinsky Park charms its visitors with huge shadow trees that makes you forget you are in the middle of a huge city. The view over the Dnipro river is superb and you can see the sandy beaches on the opposite shore. It is only a 10 minute walk from Senator Maidan.

  • Besarabs’kyi rynok, The Besarabsky Market is an old bazaar in Kiev, constructed in 1910-1912 by Polish architect Henryk Julian Gay. Here you can buy lots of delicious food and feel the atmosphere of old Kiev. It takes 17 minutes to walk there from Senator Maidan.
